Harvest Hills Homestead-Where Every Day Comes With a Story

The last three days have been… eventful. And somehow, it doesn’t look like things are slowing down anytime soon!

Friday started with a full-scale search and rescue mission after we discovered one of our leopard geckos had escaped his enclosure. After an hour and a half of searching, we finally found the little escape artist tucked behind the bearded dragon enclosure… under the surge protector, of all places! Needless to say, all climbing decor has been rearranged, and he’s now safely back in his favorite coconut hide.

Saturday was spent cleaning the house, making products, packing inventory, and loading everything up for Sunday’s market… all in the rain, of course.

Sunday was a fantastic (and very busy!) market day. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth @ The Last Sunday Market —you all made the long hours worth it!

And today…

Today belonged to Papa Riddick and two of his boys, Bear and Tonka, who all had their neuter appointments.

Let’s just say the 45-minute drive there was… memorable. We discovered Bear handles stress by peeing. Tonka, on the other hand… has the exact opposite problem when he’s nervous.

I was very thankful I packed paper towels, cleaner, a generous supply of old shopping bags and my favorite Timber Orchard body, linen & room spray! Preparation definitely paid off!

As you can see, they’re less than impressed with me at the moment.

🐾 Riddick has decided I no longer exist.

🐾 Tonka can’t seem to keep his eyes open.

🐾 Bear keeps Looking out the window then giving me the ultimate side-eye while looking at Dad like, “You gonna do something about this?”

The adventures aren’t over yet…

Tomorrow morning, Red and Blue head in for their appointments together.

Then it’s back home to finish a custom order for Saturday morning pickup, attempt to finish the new work room set up, start on a major candle restock, and prepare for a fun new farm surprise coming next weekend.

And between all that, trash runs, truck inspections and general daily homestead life all while caring for 5 post op pups with cones of shame for the next two weeks!

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that life on a homestead is rarely quiet—but we find our joy between those chaotic moments.

Every escaped gecko, muddy market, vet visit, and unexpected adventure becomes another story we get to share with you.
